Immune activation of Bio-Germanium in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial with 130 human subjects: Therapeutic opportunities from new insights
Germanium has long been considered a therapeutic agent with anticancer, antitumor, antiaging, antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects. Numerous clinical studies have explored the promising therapeutic effects of organic germanium on cancer, arthritis and senile osteoporosis. To build a more clinically substantiated foundation for the mechanism underlying its immunostimulation, we structured by far the most rigorous clinical study to-date with a group of 130 human subjects to examine changes in immune profiles following germanium supplementation.

Ambulatory Blood Pressure Profiles and Correlation with Cardiovascular Risk Factors in a Sample of 390 University Employees in Tanzania
Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Increasingly, evidence suggests that 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure (BP) monitoring (ABPM) is more accurate than clinic BP in predicting cardiovascular risk. However, this association has not been widely studied in subSaharan Africa, especially in Tanzania.

Chitosan oligosaccharide (GO2KA1) improves postprandial glycemic response in subjects with impaired glucose tolerance and impaired fasting glucose and in healthy subjects: a crossover, randomized controlled trial
The antidiabetic and hypoglycemic effects of chitosan have been reported in previous studies. We have previously shown that chitosan oligosaccharide reduces postprandial blood glucose levels in vivo. We conducted a short-term crossover study to support the results of the previous study.

Association between resting heart rate, VO2max and carotid intima-media thickness in middle-aged men
Low resting heart rate (RHR) and high cardiorespiratory fitness (VO2max) are associated with a reduction in cardiovascular events (CV). Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) has been suggested as a predictor of CV. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between RHR, VO2max and CIMT.
