The Effect of Repeated Whole-Body Cryotherapy on Sirt1 and Sirt3 Concentrations and Oxidative Status in Older and Young Men Performing Different Levels of Physical Activity
The activity of antioxidant enzymes and sirtuins (Sirt) decreases along with age, which is counteracted by aerobic training. Sirtuins increase antioxidant defence. Whole-body cryotherapy (WBC) increases total antioxidant capacity (TAC) in young men. The aim of our study was to assess the impact of 24 WBC treatments on the blood concentration of selected sirtuins and the level of antioxidant defence as well as oxidative stress index of training and non-training men depending on age.

Sex-Specific Differences in Related Indicators of Blood Pressure in School-Age Children With Overweight and Obesity: A Cross-Sectional Study
The objective of this study is to further explore the difference between elevated blood pressure (EBP), elevated pulse pressure (EPP), and elevated mean arterial pressure (EMAP) and obesity in Chinese school-age children by sex.

Can Anthropometry and Body Composition Explain Physical Fitness Levels in School-Aged Children?
Physical fitness (PF) is closely related to various health outcomes and quality of life among children. However, the associations between anthropometry, body composition (BC), and PF are not fully elucidated. This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the associations between demographic metrics (age, sex), anthropometric measures (body mass index z-score (BMI z-score) waist/height ratio (WHtR)), BC parameters (body-fat percentage (BF%), muscle weight), and PF levels (800-m run, sit-and-reach, 1-min sit-ups, standing long jump) in school-aged children.

Increased Serum WISP1 Levels are Associated with Lower Extremity Atherosclerotic Disease in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Serum wnt1-induced signaling pathway protein 1 (WISP1) levels are increased with obesity, which is a common complication associated with lower extremity atherosclerotic disease (LEAD). However, to date, the relationship between elevated WISP1 levels and the incidence of lower extremity atherosclerotic disease (LEAD) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remains unclear.

Effects of circadian rhythm disorder on body composition in women aged 31–40 years
Circadian rhythm disorder caused by lack of sleep, day-night reversal, or staying up late, can cause irreparable damage to the body, a significant increase in both the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of women in this age bracket. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of circadian disruption on body composition and insulin resistance in women aged 31-40 years.

Effect of a 4-week fish oil supplementation on neuromuscular performance after exhaustive exercise in young healthy men
Neuromuscular function is one of the important factors affecting athletic performance. Previous studies have shown that fish oil supplementation can improve performance. This study investigated the effect of fish oil on neuromuscular performance after exhausting exercise.

Variation of psychological and anthropometrics measures before and after dieting and factors associated with body dissatisfaction and quality of life in a Lebanese clinical sample
The primary objective of this study was to assess a change in the psychological states (stress, self-esteem, anxiety and depression), anthropometric measurements and physical/mental quality of life before and after diet in a sample of Lebanese subjects visiting a diet clinic. The secondary objectives included the evaluation of factors associated with body dissatisfaction, mental and physical quality of life (QOL) before the intervention of the diet program and the change in quality of life after this intervention among those participants.

Effects of Metabolic Surgery on Energy and Nutrient Intake in Obese Asian Indians with Dysglycemia
The rising prevalence of obesity and consequent metabolic disorders like type 2 diabetes has resulted in an increase in the number of metabolic surgeries. However, the nutrient intake of subjects who have undergone metabolic surgery remains poorly investigated in Asian Indians. The study aimed to assess the nutrient intake of obese Asian Indians who underwent metabolic surgery.

Relationship Between Skeletal Muscle Mass to Visceral Fat Area Ratio and Cardiovascular Risk in Type 2 Diabetes
Either visceral fat or muscle mass is identified to be correlated with cardiometabolic diseases, especially in type 2 diabetes (T2DM). But, the synergistical effect of visceral fat along with skeletal muscle on the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in T2DM still remains controversial. Thus, we investigated the relationship between skeletal muscle mass to visceral fat area ratio (SVR) and 10-yr CVD risk scores.

A Randomized, Controlled Trial Comparing the Impact of a Low-Calorie Ketogenic vs a Standard Low-Calorie Diet on Fat-Free Mass in Patients Receiving an Elipse™ Intragastric Balloon Treatment
The Elipse™ intragastric balloon (EIGB) is a new swallowable balloon for weight loss (WL). Preserving metabolically active fat-free mass (FFM) and resting metabolic rate (RMR) during WL are crucial to maximize fat mass (FM) loss. After EIGB placement, a standard low-calorie diet (LCD) is generally prescribed. A low-calorie ketogenic diet (LCKD) has proven to be safe and effective in reducing FM while preserving FFM and RMR.
